TikTok offers many hacks—some revelatory, some inadvisable. Curling your hair on your radiator probably falls into the latter category.
An Italian TikToker posted a clip last week showing her prepping her hair and then wrapping a strand around her radiator. A follow-up video showing the resulting curl got more more than 1 million views.
Another TikToker tried it out on her radiator, revealing a perfect curl.
Now, these radiators look fairly new, so maybe they won't singe your hair and/or face. I've only ever encountered radiators you definitely don't want to put your hair anywhere near, though that overheating feature is apparently a result of infection control measures during the 1918 Spanish flu.
Many commenters asked why they don't just use a curling iron, and it's a valid question. Others cautioned against doing this, which is also valid. Elsewhere, people are using radiators as blow dryers.
